A Driving Advantage is owned and operated by Tanya Cohran. She has spent seven years working closely with Renee Eady and took over the driving school in 2022-2023.
Tanya has been the Driving Education, Driver Improvement Instructor, and Group leader in our adult ASAM programs and has worked in the Driving school industy for many years. She understands how anxiety and fear can hold students back and works with every staff member to provide confidence-building, nonjudgmental, and technically sound skill-based instruction.

We have well-trained and friendly instructors and counselors that provide driver’s education and risk reduction courses with a fun and interactive curriculum. They are also very understanding when doing comprehensive driver evaluations with those who have experienced having Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and injuries or stroke.
A Driving Advantage is part of the scholarship program for Driver’s Education.
Our classes and training programs are headed by master-level instructors that provide resources to help you build confidence behind the wheel. They also support you as you reach your goal of getting a driver’s license. Additionally, we are certified as a third-party examiner and provide the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) road test for those that have met the requirements for testing.

Tanya Cohran
As a program director, Tanya is responsible for the day-to-day operations of A Driving Advantage. She also wears many hats, including defensive driving and driver's education instructor. She has achieved a counseling specialty in anger management. She is the ASAM Level 1 group leader and has been working in the alcohol and drug field for 10 years. She attended the University of North Georgia and University of West Georgia, pursuing a degree in criminology. Outside of work, Tanya likes to read and loves good food.

David Shadix
David believes it is a privilege to work at A Driving Advantage and to have helped thousands of drivers in both defensive driving and driver’s education instruction. He considers training as an opportunity to create safe driving habits for a lifetime.
David always has and will continue to assist young drivers in their development of good driving skills. It has been his pleasure to meet some of the greatest young adults in the world and gratifying to have played a part in their training. Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his family, traveling by RV, making new friends, and sampling great food along the way. He believes that young adults learn through driver’s education good driving habits that will last a lifetime. His goal is to make sure they understand and make those safe driving habits concrete.
“Tisha is from Villa Rica, GA, and she has been teaching the DUI/drug risk reduction and defensive driving course for 13 years. She is a graduate of Villa Rica High School Class of 1991 and the University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in English.

Tisha deVault
Ms. Parker has been working in the treatment of substance use disorders for more than 12 years. Her experience includes working in advocacy for sexual assault survivors, child and adolescent recovery programming, peer support and wellness for adults, and special populations of women with trauma experience and their dependent children.
Currently, Ms. Parker is working as the women’s program coordinator for Georgia, where she supports the 22 women’s programs in the state in areas of training, compliance, program management and development, research, grant support as well as clinical and technical assistance. As part of her private work, she also conducts individual therapy for accountability courts and is a state-certified clinical evaluator. Outside of work, she likes to travel with her family or ride her Harley!
Ms. Parker is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), a nationally certified Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), a Georgia Certified Addiction Counselor (CACII), a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES), Clinical Evaluator (CE), and a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS).
